From the Sketchbook: Music doodles

I remember very clearly when I was 5 or 6 years old and attended an afternoon music club once a week. One time after learning a new song and after being very disappointed for not getting to play an instrument, we drew a scene based on the lyrics. Unfortunately, the drawing has not survived to date but I’m sure it was pretty awesome!

Lately I have been too busy to actually dedicate any time to art but when I do sit down, my mind is just blank. So I started to listen to one of my all-time favourite songs: Death Cap For Cutie’s Soul Meets Body. And I tried to imagine a story and draw a scene that comes to mind. I didn’t want to edit myself or get caught up in details. I just, for a little while, wanted to unwind, listen to my favourite song and draw whatever comes to mind.
